AFTERCARE

COSMETIC & CAMOUFLAGE

Some important items to keep in mind for optimal healing and maximum pigment retention:

  • Try to avoid getting water on the treated area for 5 days. Gently pat dry with a clean cloth if water gets on the area. Popping on some of the supplied barrier balm may help protect the pigment and the healing skin.

  • After 5 days, water will help gently exfoliate to encourage regeneration and minimise flaking.

  • Avoid touching the treated area and no snuggles with pets (sorry) for at least the first few days. You'll still have a wound that is at risk of infection if not properly cared for.

  • Avoid heavy sweating (cardio exercise, sauna, swimming etc) for 2 weeks. Saline (salt) will reject the pigment and accelerate fading.

  • Avoid placing any makeup on the tattooed area for 2 weeks.

  • Change your pillowcase and/or sheets when you get home to avoid any spread of bacteria.

  • Do not pick at any scabbing. This can lift the pigment and affect evenness of healed colour.

  • Once healed, SPF and soothing moisturisers can help retain pigment. Lasers and AHA's on or around area may cause quicker fading of tattoo.

BROWS: Keep tattooed area dry and apply a small amount of balm provided to soothe area if you experience itchiness, dryness or some scabbing.

Please keep in mind that your brows take a full 4 weeks to heal and to properly show colour. The initial colour post procedure will fade up to 50%. This is why a touch-up is necessary around 4-6 weeks post treatment.

LIPS: Regularly apply the balm provided. This will assist with healing and pigment retention. Keep putting on balm until the container is finished. Ideally, you do not want your lips to be 'dry' at any stage during the first 7-10 days post treatment.

Please keep in mind that your lips take a full 6 weeks (and up to 12 weeks for neutralisation) to heal and to properly show colour. The initial colour post procedure will fade up to 80%. This is why a touch-up is necessary around 6-8 weeks post treatment.

NEUTRALISATION: You may find your lips appear darker than they were originally from weeks 2-4. This is completely normal and part of the lightening process. Please keep your lips hydrated and protected from the sun.

CAMOUFLAGE: Please leave the second skin on for 3 days, if possible. Once removed, gently wash the area with warm water to remove any excess pigment. Apply provided balm as needed to offset and dryness or itching while healing.

SCAR REVISION & STRETCH MARK REMOVAL

Some important items to keep in mind for optimal healing:

  • Apply balm to the area before going to bed and before showers for the first few days to protect the treated area.

  • Avoid touching the treated area and no snuggles with pets (sorry) for at least the first few days. You'll still have a wound that is at risk of infection if not properly cared for.

  • Avoid activities that irritate the treated area.

  • Avoid placing any makeup on the tattooed area for 2 weeks.

  • Change your pillowcase and/or sheets when you get home to avoid any spread of bacteria.

  • Do not pick at any scabbing. Light exfoliation is okay after 10 days but excessive picking or exfoliation can cause unnecessary trauma.

  • Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation can occur in some instances. This may appear as an initial darkening of the treated area.  This will lighten with time.

  • Please allow a full 6 weeks for healed results.

SKIN REJUVENATION

  • Avoid active skincare (such as retinol, tretinoin, AHA and glycolic) for 4 days.

  • Results will continue to improve for 4 weeks.
